Without the wonderful work and commitment of volunteers on the day of TEDxGreenville, we would struggle to produce an event of this magnitude. By the day our inspirational talks and performances are on stage, the team members who’ve worked for 8-10 months to raise the funds, build the stage, marketing, interactive projects and content for the day are worn out. Enter, amazing and energized volunteers to save the day! It’s something like a relay race where the worn out team members hand over the baton to the volunteers, the production crew and the Kroc Center staff and that’s where the magic begins.
A word from our coordinator of volunteers, Elaine Hester.
I have been involved with TEDx as the Volunteer Coordinator for the past two years. It has been an enriching experience meeting those people involved with organizing the event, presenters and other volunteers.
The actual day of this year’s event unfolded rather seamlessly. Our volunteers arrived on time and performed their duties very well. Once the registration process was slowing down, we were able to take turns watching the live stream of presenters. It was an amazing line-up! The Interactive Team had put together some very interesting activities, which I enjoyed during the breaks. I was happy to see the Unicorn rise up like an exclamation point to the day!
A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of these amazing people, the TEDxGreenville volunteers!!!
