About Neal Brooks and Larry Hoskinson Brooks is a singer-songwriter from the upstate of South Carolina. Having grown up in a mill-town just south of the North Carolina line, he draws inspiration from those familiar backdrops of rail-lines, water-towers, and main street movie theaters. Brooks is a member of the band The Jaywalkers.
