About Sammy and the Repertory Theatre
Sammy Dotson was born in Greenville SC and is a graduate of Greenville Senior High School. Sammy is the Artist Director of the Phillis Wheatley Dwight Woods Repertory Theatre for Youth which is a program of the Phillis Wheatley Association located in Greenville SC. Sammy is also a singer/songwriter who’s shared the stage with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, Frankie Beverley & Maze, and more. Sammy started his musical & theatrical journey with the Repertory Theatre at a young age.
Phillis Wheatley Repertory Theatre is partly responsible for the career of Broadway Star Phillip Boykin. The Repertory Theatre shaped the lives of so many young people who are professionals all over the United States. Phillis Wheatley has also saved so many of us from the streets, and put us on the pathway to success. The Repertory Theatre has a 97% graduation rate and these young people sing, act, and dance their way into to colleges. The Phillis Wheatley Dwight Woods Repertory Theatre has performed all over, and is continuing to wow audiences with their performances. Repertory has shared the stage with The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Shania Twann, Stevie Wonder, and many more.
