TEDxWomen Live Stream

Streaming from Greenville Memorial Hospital Auditorium
(Left of the Welcome Desk at the main entrance)

Live from San Francisco

TEDWomen brings together a global community of women and men interested in exploring how change begins: with innovative thinkers who catalyze ideas toward action. Over the past few years, TEDWomen and TEDxWomen have launched some powerful ideas into the world.

Most recently, at TEDWomen 2015, more than 40 speakers offered up fresh insights and perspectives around the theme “Momentum”. Nearly 240 TEDx events in 68 countries took part, sharing the TEDWomen 2015 livestream while also presenting local speakers tackling the conference theme. The result: A truly global conversation — from San Francisco to São Paulo to Seoul — celebrating movers and makers; designers and do-ers; local problem-solvers and global leaders.

TEDxGreenville has secured the license to stream the video talks of one session from TEDWomen.

The evening will also feature talks from local speakers including:

GAILDEPRIEST. The Art of Affirmation

Gail DePriest is a teacher, coach and author.

She was formerly a Corporate Director for a global management consulting firm and an entrepreneur, and has advised Fortune 500 companies and top-ranked business schools.  She coaches leaders for top performance and her clients have included the US Department of Defense, Michelin North America and Bon Secours Health System.

She is a doctoral candidate and teaches Innovation & Creativity for Entrepreneurs, as well Global Leadership in an Oxford study aboard program. She is a contributing writer for the Upstate Business Journal, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Journal and is the author of, “Journey 21 – Strategies for a Better Work Life.”

SUSANSTALL. Sex and World Peace:
Why We Need to Care about Gender Equality

Susan Stall is a community volunteer with a passion for justice.

She spent 13 years in corporate banking with SunTrust in Atlanta, before moving to Greenville to concentrate on her family.  Now that her two sons are grown, Susan serves as Vice Chair of Dining for Women, the largest giving circle in the world, which is headquartered in Greenville.  Dining for Women works to promote gender equality by funding grants that impact women in girls in the developing world and by educating members (currently more than 8,000 throughout the US) about issues facing women and girls around the globe.

She serves on the board of JustFaith Ministries, an organization headquartered in Louisville, KY that facilitates small group discussion of the gospel call to social justice and compassion.  She also serves a trustee of the FW Symmes Foundation, which provides funding for nonprofits working in Greenville County.

After talks from local speakers, we will livestream talks from the TEDWomen conference.

Then, we will livestream the following talks from San Francisco.

Note: The talks deal with mature subject matter. A few of the streamed talks may not be appropriate for young audiences.

Admission is free, but registration is required.

NOTE: TED rules limit the number of people who can attend our salons. In the last few salons, the number of “no-shows” has been excessive. So, if you sign up and cannot attend, please let us know so we can open a space for someone else to attend. If this continues, we will begin charging a nominal registration fee for the salons.
